Researcher
Professor of Educational Technology
TÉLUQ University, International Observatory on the Social Impacts of AI and Digital Technology (OBVIA), Institute for Applied AI (I2A), Institute for Cognitive Sciences (ISC)
Valéry Psyché is a professor of Educational Technology at TÉLUQ University. She holds a Ph.D. in cognitive computing and an M.Sc. in physical sciences from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), as well as a licence in physical sciences from Université Joseph-Fourier (Grenoble-Alpes, France). A member of OBVIA, the Institute for Applied AI (I2A) and the Institute for Cognitive Sciences (ISC), she specializes in instructional design, ontological engineering, intelligent tutoring systems and, more broadly, AI in education. She is actively involved in the AIED, ITS and ICCE scientific communities.
Researcher
Associate Professor, School of Design
School of Design, Faculty of Planning, Architecture, Art and Design, Université Laval, Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation and Social Integration (Cirris)
A musician and researcher in the aesthetics of VR, AR and MR systems, Jocelyne Kiss focuses her work on deficiencies in human interaction, both face to face and at a distance, as well as on devices that help compensate for these limitations. She is an Associate Professor at the School of Design at Université Laval and a regular researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation and Social Integration (Cirris).
Collaborator
Associate Professor in Education Sciences
University of the Antilles, INSPÉ of the Guadeloupe Academy, CRREF – Research and Resource Center for Education and Training [UR6_3]
Thomas Forissier is an associate professor at the University of the Antilles, based at the INSPÉ of the Guadeloupe Academy and director of CRREF (Research and Resource Center for Education and Training [UR6_3]). His research focuses on the relationships between context and the didactics of science and technology, particularly in environmental education. He coordinated the project “Educational Technologies for Teaching in Context” (TEEC).
Collaborator
Master’s research student in arts and assistive technologies
Université Laval
Jonathan Proulx-Guimond is currently pursuing a research-based master’s degree at Université Laval in the field of arts and assistive technologies, focusing in particular on user experience. He previously completed a bachelor’s degree in visual and media arts and a technical college program in 3D animation and image synthesis.
Collaborator
Postdoctoral fellow in Education
Université de Genève
Holding a Ph.D. in Education Sciences, Valérie Payen Jean-Baptiste focuses on the multiplicity of ways of accessing and producing knowledge in diverse learning contexts, which she sees as a key issue in current debates on openness and open access to knowledge. Her epistemological stance centers on the mediation between constructed knowledge and the realities of the communities in which it takes shape. Her current projects address collaborative competence development in digital communities of practice, the integration and adoption of AI in organizations, and the transformation of web-based learning content into open and accessible educational resources.
Student researcher
Doctoral student in Education Sciences
University of the Antilles (Martinique campus), INSPÉ Martinique – National Higher Institute of Teacher Training and Education (Académie de Martinique), CRREF – Research and Resource Center for Education and Training [UR6_3]
Doctoral student in Education Sciences at CRREF (Research and Resource Center for Education and Training), University of the Antilles (Martinique campus).
Student researcher
Ph.D. candidate in Cognitive Computing
TÉLUQ University
Fatma Miladi defended her Ph.D. thesis entitled “Generative AI-Based Pedagogical Conversational Agents to Enhance Online Learning.” She will receive a doctorate in Cognitive Computing from the Université du Québec, supervised by Professor Daniel Lemire and co-supervised by Professor Valéry Psyché. Her examining committee included Claude Frasson (external examiner), Roger Nkambou (internal examiner) and Patrick Plante (chair).
Student researcher
Ph.D. candidate in Design and Immersive Technologies
Centre interdisciplinaire de recherche en réadaptation et intégration sociale (Cirris)
Alejandro Reyes-Consuelo is a mechatronics engineer who graduated in 2016 from the National Technological Institute of Mexico. He completed a master’s degree at Université Laval in 2022 on the use of immersive technologies to recreate natural environments for people in vulnerable situations, particularly those with memory disorders, to help manage anxiety and stress. Now a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Design at Université Laval, he develops extended reality (VR/AR/MR) technologies to support the social participation and professional integration of neurodivergent people. His research lies at the intersection of remote social interaction and real-time monitoring of physiological signals for emotional regulation. He also contributes to educational technology projects focusing on contextualized, collaborative pedagogical practices. A photography enthusiast, he uses this practice to deepen his thinking about human interactions and their environments.
